4 Oils to Pack for the Weekend

Lavender oil for stress

Vacations can be stressful. That might seem like a contradiction, but it's true. Long drives, long lines, bored kids, and crowded surroundings are enough to put anyone on edge. Organic lavender oil can help you relax during those stressful moments and get back to the fun.

Lavender oil has high amounts of linalool, which has been proven to have a calming effect on people. You can make a lavender scented mist by adding 10 drops of organic lavender oil to one cup of distilled water. Put this mixture in a spray bottle and shake well, then spray it in the car to keep the mood calm. Lavender oil can also be used in a diffuser.

Manketti oil for sunburns

Getting a sunburn is an all too common part of vacations. Organic manketti oil has high amounts of Vitamin E and Vitamin C, so it can be applied directly to the skin to repair sun-damaged skin. Manketti oil is also an effective moisturizer, which makes it perfect for a day at the pool or the beach.

Tamanu oil for scrapes, bruises, and bug bites

Organic Tamanu oil is a must-have in any vacation first-aid kit. The busy nature of vacations can often lead to accidental injuries.

Tamanu oil can be applied liberally to cuts and scrapes. This oil can also relieve burns, insect bites, stings, sunburns, and abrasions.

Phototoxic Oils are No Fun in the Sun

Certain oils are phototoxic, which means they should not be used before exposure to sunlight. Phototoxic oils will increase the chance of getting a sunburn when applied to the skin.

Oils to avoid before having fun in the sun include lemon oil, bergamot oil, orange oil, and lime oil.

Vacations should be fun for everyone, but sometimes people need help keeping the fun on track. Make sure you have the organic oils you'll need to power through the three-day weekend. What are your Labor Day weekend plans? Let us know in the comments!
