Citral is a major component in Lemongrass oil. Behale Organic Lemongrass oil is rich in citral (over 70%). Citral lends its mosquito repellant properties to Lemongrass oil, so Behale Organic Lemongrass oil is effective in repellant blends. Dilute Lemongrass oil with a carrier oil such as Baobab oil or Manketti oil before topical use.

Lemongrass oil can irritate the skin if it's used in high concentrations. Behale recommends a maximum concentration of around 0.7%-0.8%. Pregnant women and children should use this oil even more sparingly.
